Forward bends have a quieting affect on the mind and have a calming affect on the nervous system.  They also bring agility and flexibility to the hips, legs and spine.  The practice invites surrender, release and contemplation.

Philosophy Theme:  Yoga Sutras 2.46 – 2.47 2.46  sthira-sukham-āsanam – “Practicing yoga with strength and in a relaxed manner gives rise to harmony.” 2.47  prayatna shaithilya-anata samapattibhyam – “The posture is attained by the relaxation of effort and by absorption in the infinite.”

    Fantastic class! Through the consistent actions and teaching, I was able to access deep forward bends with ease; variations in Sirsasana and Sarvangasana was met with ease as well! I left class feeling peaceful!
